RampFest News

Sam was a long time visitor at RampFest when he started helping out in the shop.  Initially for work experience, Sam was just that good, we decided to keep him around!  He's been helping out with all things scooter-related ever since - whether it's helping out with Scooter Lessons or helping kids fix their grip tape.  

Chris has been riding BMX since he was 12 years old - and has been working in the BMX scene in Australia for years.  First as an event organiser, then a coach, Chris has owned & run RampFest since Jan 2014.  

Dom has been with RampFest for a couple of years now, and we can't really remember the place without him... Dom has been a party host, BMX Coach, and Skate Coach - along with taking over the social media duties.  Always down for a laugh and a good time - say hi to Dom when you drop in next!

Miller was a RampFest customer who just hung around so much he became part of the team - and we're stoke to have him on board.  Miller is one of our scooter experts in store and he's also got some pretty cool flow on a scooter himself!  If you see him at RampFest, ask him anything about scooters or anime and he'll look after you.

Harrison is a BMX rider and joined the RampFest Team in 2020 to look after our growing coaching & events programs.  Harrison coaches most of our BMX Programs, and works with all our Skate & Scooter Coaches to run Ramp School & Ramp Camp programs throughout the year.  Apparently he's also getting pretty good at golf, but you'll have to ask him about that... 

Saul is the newest member of the Rampfest Skateboard Coaching Team - but has been coaching skateboarding for several years.  Most recently, he's been working with the YMCA Skate Park League programs and coaching regularly through several school based skate programs.

Bailey has been coaching skateboarding at RampFest for the last 4 years now and has helped plenty of young skaters get their bearings (who likes a skateboard pun!) in the skate park.  Bailey is an amazing bowl skater himself and has plenty of crazy lines around RampFest - often able to ride the park just like a BMX'er.

Liam is RampFest's longest serving employee, having joined the team way back in 2015 as a junior staff member.  Now, he's one of the most recognisable faces at RampFest and a key part of running our retail store.  He knows more about all the products we sell than anyone - whether that's Skate, Scooter or BMX - and he's also a damn good BMX Rider in his own right

Rav is a former BMX Racer, now Freestyle BMX rider, who joined the RampFest team in 2018.  Rav is an expert on all things BMX at RampFest, plus he makes sure the shop and park keep running smoothly.  You'll find him at RampFest most days either riding, fixing ramps, organising stock or playing with Hugo (the dog).  But seriously, mostly playing with Hugo...

With the Freestyle BMX Nationals coming up, we've been hearing a lot of talk about Competitions lately - about what's good about them, what isn't and why people don't want to compete.  

This article isn't about why everyone should enter comps, but we do want to share what makes them fun, and help out anyone who might be a bit nervous about giving it a crack first time.

Last weekend, we got to host our first event in over 8 months... man it was a long wait, but it was awesome to be back.  The Breaking Out of Lockdown Jam was all about bringing the RampFest Community back together for a night so good times - and all the classic mini-comps made an appearance.
